Our political group (I come from Avanguardia Operaia) has often exaggerated like a dragon the flaws of our opponents, often painting them as much worse and more malicious than they really are, while overshadowing our own human and structural mistakes.

Exactly 50 years ago, I wrote a full-page article in the workers' newspaper with the not-so-prophetic title:

La nostra parte politica (io vengo da Avanguardia Operaia), ha spesso esaltato come un drago , i difetti degli avversari spesso dipinti molto più brutti e cattivi di quello che sono, mettendo in ombra i nostri errori umani e strutturali.
